Many people were offended by this statement and the Marlins promptly suspended Guillen for 5 games due to his comments. How does this relate to Voltaire’s belief in freedom of speech. Do you think what the Marlins did violates freedom of speech? Do you find what he said offensive? Should people put so much effort into caring about what a sports figure says? Would you defend someone’s freedom of speech? To what limit would you go? April 10, 2012 Complete the Enlightenment packet questions up to the last page, the summary assignment is due Thursday.
