Population concerns in Japan

Today we looked at the problems facing Japan as they find their population in decline and women taking on a greater role in society which is partially leading to the decline in births.  As you can see by the population pyramid on the left, Japan's pyramid is narrowing at the bottom... directly opposite to India's population pyramid.  What stage would you believe Japan and India is in according to the demographic transition model?  If you were absent complete the Japan worksheet in the World in the Balance packet.  Further reading needed to answer the questions can be found HERE and HERE and HERE
